We live in a material world but you all know that. It’s become normal to want new things on a constant. When you work downtown and your office is connected to a large shopping mall, it’s near impossible to avoid shopping. But who are we kidding, even if it were out of my way (as it’s been in the past) I will always make time for it. That being said, I’ve challenged myself to a 30 day shopping cleanse. What this means is that for the next month, I will do anything and everything possible to avoid spending money! Trust me when I say, this is going to be darn near impossible … as you can imagine.
The reason I decided on challenging myself this month is because I noticed in the past few months I’ve been overspending. Also with the change of weather on its way, there really is no need for new summer clothing. This will give me the chance to wear what’s already in my wardrobe – some for the first time this season. Besides that, I’m trying to save in order to go on a Euro trip next year. This has to be my greatest motivation. Sometimes when facing what seems like an impossible challenge, the best thing to do is find an equally great motivator.
Have a need to stop your spending? Come join me in my 30 day shopping cleanse and we can struggle through this together!
